Well, here is another attempt at good looking "space." This is 4th attempt and personally, I think the best. I did the sun texture myself and I'm quite pleased with how it came out. I would appreciate C+C though. Thank you.
very nice, i love the bluish nebula background (although it seems a tad repetitive) and the solar flares are simply amazing, very well done.
the starfield could use a little work, they all seem to be pretty much the same size (a tad too big, possibly), and spread out evenly, when it should be more random.
also, on the sun texture (specifically the yellow spots), i can tell what brush you used, it seems like you either made it far to large, spherized it too much, or a combination of the too. it seems rather pixelated but smooth which is what happens when you make brushes like those too big. you ought to either find a different brush or decrease the size of those (significantly), and do some manual brushing.
also the green planet, with such a bright contrasting color right next to the red sun really stands out. i guess it sorta depends on what you were going for with that planet, its so bright it adds a sense of surrealism (not quite the right word but i cant think of a better one) although it does sorta match up with the rest of the piece. like i said, depends on what you were aiming for. personally i might desaturate it a little, if thats what you were going for, it works.
also, completely based on my opinions and style, the sun seems a little too dark, i would lighten it up and also make the atmospheres brighter closer towards the planets.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
The Cutting Edge is a weekly article that features brand new selected high quality art products that caught our eyes. Check out the cutting edge prints some of your fellow artists have submitted in the past week!
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
